Quality of Raw Materials -- We know there is a lot of cheap alpaca imports out there. Most aren't made with pure alpaca fiber. Instead, its a blend of rabbit, goat, sheep, cotton or synthetic. This is the real deal. 

Quality of Workmanship -- The artisans that work for Mayu have been knitting since they were little girls. It is a part of their culture and their day-to-day lives. Throughout their lives, they've knit for themselves, their siblings and now for their own children. These women know how to knit! One-of-a-Kind Designs -- After spending years in Peru, we also know that, although the markets and shops of Cusco and Lima are full of alpaca products, none of the designs are similar to those of Mayu. We strive to create items that can't be found in the mass produced markets.

If you have a problem, we will fix it.  There is nothing worse than bad customer service, so we do everything possible to provide the best service around. Fair Trade Federation Members -- Mayu is a member of the Fair Trade Federation. We compensate our knitters as they should be. In fact, they dictate their labor prices and our business model is based on that. 

The Story! -- Mayu was a result of the founder's time in the Peace Corps. She fell in love with the community, the people, the culture and of course, the knitting! We know our artisans well and have known them for over seven years. This direct relationship isn't very common in today's economy.
